0 <br />0 <br />1 <br />1 <br />• <br />for each budget and the total of all budgets the proposed tax millages, the balances, the <br />reserves and the total of each major classification of receipts and expenditures, classified <br />according to the classification of accounts prescribed by the Comptroller of the State of <br />Florida; and, <br />WHEREAS, this Board did cause said summary statement to be advertised one time <br />in a newspaper of general circulation published in Indian River County, Florida, to -wit: In <br />the issue of August 23, 1956, of the Vero Beach Press Journal, as will more fully appear by <br />proof of publication thereof filed in the minutes of this Board; and, <br />WHEREA S, this -Board did meet at the time and place stated in said advert <br />for the purpose of hearing requests and complaints from the public regarding the budgets and <br />for the purpose of holding a public hearing and making whatever revisions in the budget it <br />may deem necessary; Now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, does herewith tentatively adopt the annual budget for the funds of said Board for the <br />fiscal year ending September 30, 1957, in the form as heretofore prepared and duly advirtised;l <br />and, <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said tentative budget shall be filed in the office <br />of the County Auditor as a public record and the County Officer shall transmit two copies <br />of the tentative budget as adopted to the Comptroller of the State of Florida and said Budget <br />as tentatively adopted shall be considered as finally adopted and as official upon approval <br />as to form by the Comptroller. <br />adopted. <br />Upon being duly seconded by Commissioner Hamilton, the same was unanimously <br />R E S O L U T I O N --- LEVY OF TAXES <br />Commissioner Hamilton introduced the following Resolution and moved its <br />adoption, to -wit: <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, that the rate of taxation necessary to meet the expenditures of the Board of County <br />Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, for the fiscal year ending September 30, 1957, <br />pursuant to the budget of said Board as heretofore published and approved, is as hereinafter <br />levied and that the tax rate as hereinafter shown and set forth be it is.hereby levied on all <br />taxable property in Indian River County, Florida, for the year 1956 with the rate hereinafter <br />set out, to -wit: <br />1. In order to meet the estimated expenses of the General Fund, it is deter- <br />mined and hereby declared that a tax rate of Five and Nine -tenths (5.9) mills upon the <br />dollar be levied and hereby imposed. <br />2. In order to meet the estimated expenses of the Road and Bridge Fund, it is <br />determined and hereby declared that a tax rate of One (1) mill upon the dollar be levied and <br />is hereby imposed. <br />
