Premium $3,227.84 <br />3 A letter was received from the Indian River Association of Insurance Agents <br />I <br />l consisting of American Ins urance Agency, Buckingham -Wheeler Agency, Moore Insurance Agency, <br />! Ed Schlitt Agency, Warren T. Zeuch Agency; stating they appreciated the opportunity to bid on <br />the Automobile Liability renewal but were unable to do so from the lack of time in which to <br />I <br />promulgate proper rates. They also recommended that the County place the entire responsibili <br />of handling County insurance business with the Indian River Association of Insurance Agents <br />i <br />and they would review the county's insurance coverage, and then make recommendations to the <br />county commissioners for their final decision. <br />After considerable discussion in the matter, Motion was made by Commissioner <br />!j Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner McCullers and carried, to accept Rudy Hubbard's bids both <br />on the Automobile Liability and Workmen's Compensation insurance. <br />r <br />Commissioner Robert W. Graves introduced to the Board Colonel Leo M. 0!Brien <br />p who volunteered as Director of Civil Defense. Colonel O'Brien stated that he was a resident <br />of the county and had 40 -years military experience in the airforce and would do all he could <br />!I <br />for the Civil Defense program. Upon Motion made by Commissioner Robert W. Graves, seconded <br />by Commissioner Macdonald and unanimously carried, it was decided that Lea M. -O'Brien, Colonel <br />U. S. Airforce Retired, be herewith appointed as Director of the Indian River County Civil <br />J Defense, according to Chapter 252, Florida Statutes. <br />Upon Motion made by Commissioner W. C. -Graves, Jr., seconded by Commissioner <br />4� Robert W. Graves and unanimously carried, resolution was passed to extend to Colonel Lill the <br />Boards appreciation for his services rendered as Civil Defense Director of Indian River. County <br />in the past. <br />9 - <br />RE S O L U T I O N -- Colonel A. V. Lill <br />WHEREAS, A. V. Lill, Colonel, United States Army Retired, has served as Director, <br />of the Indian River County Civil Defense Council for a period of many years; and, <br />WHEREAS, Colonel Lill has been most active and has practically single-handed <br />;promoted and carried on the Civil Defense program of this County during that period of time, <br />attending many meetings and advising the public on Civil Defense plans in the event of an <br />emergency existing in this County and <br />WHEREAS, it -has become necessary for personal reasons for Colonel Lill to resign <br />,'as such Director;' Now, -therefore, <br />BE.IT.RESOLVED'by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />'r <br />,Florida, that this Board, its members individually and this Board acting for and upon behalf <br />,j <br />
