A,, -M:&, <br />of the citizens of this County, does herewith express its profound thanks, appreciation and <br />;!gratitude to Colonel Lill for his efficient, unselfish and devoted service to this most worthy and <br />essential cause; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy hereof be furnished to Colonel <br />Lill and to the Press and Radio of this County. <br />r r r r r r r r r r r r r - r r r r r r r r r - r r - r r r r r r r r r r r r r r <br />Homer C. Fletcher, Tax Assessor -appeared before the Board and stated that he <br />had received permission from the Governor to.close the Tax As sessor's Office in the afternoons <br />until the 1957 tax roll has been completed and presented to the Board of Equalization, subject <br />f <br />to the approval of the Board of County Commissioners, and with proper notice being given to <br />the public. Upon Motion made by Commissioner Robert W. Graves, seconded by Commissioner Mc - <br />Cullers and unanimously carried , the Board also approved the closing of the Tax Assessor's <br />Office as heretofore stated. <br />Mrs. Cuttshaw of Sebastian appeared before the Board with reference to the county <br />moving her cabins back off the right of way. She stated that John Massey gave her an estimate of <br />$2600.00 to do the work and she couldn't understand why it would cost so much. Commissioner <br />W. C. Graves, Jr. suggested the Board give her twelve or thirteen hundred dollars and let her <br />get the work done herself. After considerable discussion it was decided that she should get an _. <br />estimate from someone else as to how much the work would cost and they would work with her from <br />there. <br />The following letter of agreement was accepted upon Motion made by Commissioner <br />Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner McCullers and unanimously carried. <br />March 14, 1957 <br />Mr. P. Conner, Trustee <br />Sebastian Baptist Church <br />Sebastian, Florida <br />Dear Mr, Conner: <br />In re: SRD No.. 149. <br />In of the conveyance by the Trustees of the'Cburch of <br />the right of way described in the above deed, Indian River County, <br />acting by and through its Board of County Commissioners, agrees with <br />you as follows: <br />1. That the County will pay the total sum of $5,000.00 for this right <br />of way with the understanding that any and all alterations and changes <br />required to the Church or which you desire to make will be made by you. <br />This agreement is approved by the Board of County C,id ssioner at its <br />meeting as shown by its minutes. <br />Sincerely yours, <br />Board of County Commissioners <br />of Indian River County, Florida <br />By a/ J.
