AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO <br />43rd AVENUE ROADWAY AND DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS <br />PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES AGREEMENT <br />This AMENDMENT, entered into this 2nd day of May <br />2006, by and between INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, a political subdivision of the State of Florida, <br />hereinafter referred to as the COUNTY, and CARTER ASSOCIATES, INC., Vero Beach, Florida, <br />hereinafter referred to as the ENGINEER. <br />This AMENDMENT modifies the terms and conditions of the existing Professional <br />Engineering Services Agreement dated October 7, 2003, between the COUNTY and the <br />ENGINEER. <br />This AMENDMENT stipulates changes in "Section I — Project Limits and Description", <br />"Section II — County Obligations", "Section III - Scope of Services", "Section IV — Time for <br />Completion", and "Section V - Compensation". <br />SECTION I - PROJECT LIMITS AND DESCRIPTION <br />Consultant services are required to present the 4 -lane concept for 43rd Avenue from 18`h <br />Street to 8`h Street with dual travel lanes in each direction, a center median, right turn and left turn <br />lanes at 16`h, 12`h, and 8th Streets, and bump -outs for U-turns at an "open house" style workshop to <br />solicit public input regarding the project. <br />SECTION II — COUNTY OBLIGATIONS <br />The COUNTY agrees to provide a meeting place for the public workshop. <br />SECTION III - SCOPE OF SERVICES <br />The ENGINEER agrees to perform professional roadway design and related services in <br />connection with the project as required and set forth in the following: <br />A. General <br />The ENGINEER will endeavor not to duplicate any previous work done on the <br />project. After issuance of written authorization to proceed, the ENGINEER shall <br />consult with the COUNTY to clarify and define the COUNTY'S requirements for <br />the project and review all available data. <br />B. Public Workshop <br />The ENGINEER will prepare presentation boards depicting the 4 -lane conceptual <br />plan for 43rd Ave and will organize and facilitate a public workshop to share the <br />concept with the public and receive public feedback. <br />The ENGINEER will prepare one 3'x5' rigid presentation board with the <br />roadway outline overlaid on a color aerial photograph at I"=150', and three <br />2'x3' rigid presentation boards; one each of the three 80 -foot constrained <br />ROW cross section options. <br />
