Life and property <br /> b.., Young plantations <br /> c. Well-stocked young natural pine stands <br /> d. High value public use areas <br /> C. Historic and unique areas <br /> Large ;areas of other well stocked stands <br /> 7. Pre-position units as warranted. Notify adjoining districts of potential need <br /> for assistance. <br /> $. Forest Protection Bureau Office — OIC in State Office 0700-1800 and at <br /> night as needed or on immediate call. <br /> a. Notify Incident Command Team of possible need <br /> b. Notify Strike Teams of possible need <br /> C. Alert helicopter. pilots <br /> 9 . See Appendix D for information on !Red Flag Fire Alert. <br /> B. Permissible Activities <br /> 1 . Leave granted only on an emergency basis. <br /> 2. Activities of all Area, District/Center, and District Shop personnel must not <br /> lessen fire dispatch capability. <br /> 3. ; Activities of all Division of Forestry personnel must not lessen <br /> Duty/Dispatch capability or length .of response time. <br /> FIRE READINESS LEVEL 5: <br /> A. Mandatory Activities : <br /> 1 Area personnel <br /> a. Towers — Staff all key and secondary towers. Provide relief <br /> personnel during lunch breaks, if possible. Early morning and night <br /> checks required. Days off and non-emergency leave cancelled. <br /> b. Rangers — On fire duty. No other activities,. stay with :equipment. <br /> C. Area Supervisors — Stay in communication with crews and dispatch <br /> center. No duties other than those related to fire suppression. Check <br /> -- <br /> equipment in the morning. Supervise early morning and night tower <br /> checks. ; Insure adequate personnel on duty to staff all first line fire <br /> suppression units. Conduct safety briefings . <br /> d. Burning.Authorizations — None allowed without on-site inspection by <br /> supervisor and approval of District/Center Manager <br />
