CoqPerators/RFD's —Weatherg FireReadiness Level, and Fire Danger Rating <br /> from 1400 Eastern Standard Time data relayed to all concerned parties. <br /> 4 . OIC should initiate appropriate .contacfwithnewsmedia., <br /> 5 . Forest Protection Bureau Office — .OIC in Fire Control Office or immediate <br /> - contact at all times. <br /> B . Permissible Activities <br /> 1 . Leave granted only on a limited basis. District Manager/Center Manager <br /> must be consulted before extended leave is granted to personnel. <br /> 2. Activities .of all fire control personnel must not lessen fire dispatch <br /> capability. <br /> IRE READINESS LEVEL 4: <br /> A. Mandatory Activities <br /> L Area personnel <br /> a. Towers - Staff all key towers and secondary towers. , Staggered lunch <br /> periods. Night check recommended. <br /> b. Ranger — On fire duty. No other activities, stay with equipment unless <br /> otherwise authorized by the OIC. Maintain all scheduled crews on <br /> duty or on call on Sundays and Holidays . Only emergency leave <br /> granted. If the fire occurrence is high, cancel all days off. <br /> C . Area Supervisors — No duties :other than those :related to fire <br /> suppression.. Check equipment in A.M. Regular days. off canceled. <br /> Conduct safetybriefngs. , <br /> d. Burning Authorizations - All open burning restricted to areas where <br /> positive control is guaranteed. On-site inspection by supervisor <br /> required prior to authorization. <br /> e. Air Patrol Morning check and afternoon patrol of district, the <br /> beginning and ending hours to be determined by OIC, <br /> f. A minimum of two initial attack units per area, on-call at least until <br /> 2300 hours, if required. <br /> 2. District personnel — OIC in District Office during normal work hours and at <br /> night if fires continue uncontrolled. He may leave the District Office for <br /> visits to the scene of fire problems. All other District personnel on alert for <br /> fire duty. <br /> 3 . District Shop Personnel In communication and available for dispatch as <br /> needed. <br /> 4 . Cooperators/RFD's - Fire situation relayed to all concerned parties . Advise <br /> of needed assistance, etc. <br /> 5 . Advise news media of fire situation and danger. <br /> 6. If available, initially dispatch 2 units to fires in areasofhigh risk/loss <br />
