5. That a public hearing thereon has been held by the Board of County Commissioners <br />of Indian River County, Florida, in the office of said Board in the Indian River County <br />Courthouse, Vero Beach, Florida, on August 6, 1957. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Board does herewith close, vacate and abandon <br />the said road, street and highway as the same is hereinabove described and as the same is <br />laid out and delineated on the said plat and does hereby renounce and disclaim any right of <br />Indian River County, Florida, and the public in and to all lands comprising said street, road <br />j and highway. <br />- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - <br />Ed Schmucker, County Superintendent of Roads presented an agreement between the <br />County and Alvin Carlsward and wife to purchase marl from Mr. Carlsward for the sum of One <br />Thousand ($1,000.00) Dollars. Upon Motion made by Commissioner W. C. Graves, Jr., seconded <br />•. 6 <br />by Commissioner Macdonald and carried, the Board accepted this Agreement and ordered the Clerk <br />to have it placed on record. <br />The following Resolution was introduced by Commissioner Macdonald and upon being <br />seconded by Commissioner W. C. Graves, Jr., was unanimously adopted: <br />R E S 0 L U T I 0 N --- Hospital Service for the Indigent <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 29957, General Acts of the 1955 regular session of the Florida <br />Legislature, creates a program known as "Hospital Service for the Indigent" for the purpose <br />of providing essential hospitalization for acutely ill or injured persons in this State who a <br />medically indigent; and, <br />WHEREA S. the 1957 Legislature appropriated $4,000.00 to the State Board of Health <br />for the biennium, July 1, 1957, through June 30, 1959, for the administration of this program <br />and for the purpose of alloting State funds to each County in proportion to its population <br />to augment County funds which may be provided for these purposes; and, <br />Beginning at the Northeast corner of Tract 4, according to Re - <br />Plat of Ridgwood Subdivision, which siad Re -Plat was filed <br />May 3, 1939, and recorded in Plat Book 2, page 39, Public <br />records of Indian River County, Florida; and run East 30 feet, <br />more or less, the the Northwest corner of Tract 10 in said Re - <br />Plat, thence run South on the West line of said Tract 10, 185 <br />feet to the Southwest corner of said Tract 10, thence run West <br />to the Southeas t corner of said Tract 4, thence run North on <br />the Ea st line of said Tract 4, 185 feet to the point of beginning. <br />2. That this Board has published Notice thereof one time in the Vero Beach Press - <br />Journal, a newspaper of general circulation in Indian River County, Florida, said publication, <br />'3 being published at least two weeks prior to the date stated therein for such public hearing. <br />3. That said road, street and highway on the above described land is not a State <br />or Federal road maintained by the State of Florida and that said street, road or highway de- <br />lineated on said recorded plat is not located within the incorporated limits of any municipa- <br />lity and is located in Indian River County, Florida. <br />I 4. That said road, street and highway located by said plat on the parcel of land <br />hereinabove described is not now and has never been used as a road, street or highway for <br />public travel and has never been used as a public road, street, or highway. <br />5.
