The following Resolution was introduced by Commissioner Robert Graves, seconded by <br />e <br />Commissioner W. C. Graves, Jr., and unanimously carried. <br />R E S O L U T I O N -- State Road A -1-A, Waba®so Bridge <br />Area <br />WHEREAS, the State Road Department of Florida proposes to improve that part of j <br />State Road AlA, Section 8807 between State Road.502 and the Sebastian Inlet; and <br />WHEREAS, said Department has requested the Bridge Commissioners of the Wabasso <br />Bridge District, Trustees, to execute and deliver to the Department a deed in favor of the i <br />State of Florida to certain lands described in said Deed Owned by said The Bridge Commiss- <br />ioners of the Wabasso Bridge District, Trustees, which said lands are now held, owned and <br />administered by Indian River County, a political subdivision of the State of Florida, acting <br />by and through its Board of County Commissioners conveying all of its right, title and II <br />interest in and to said lands required for the right of way for said State Road, <br />NOW, THEREFORE: <br />,II <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida,,i� <br />that the Chairman and Clerk of this Board be and they are hereby authorized and directed to <br />make, execute and deliver to the State Road Department a Deed in favor of the State of Florida) <br />conveying all of its right, title and interest in and to the lands therein described for such <br />right of way, and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that two certified copies of this Resolution be forwarded <br />u <br />to the State Road Department at Fort Lauderdale, Florida. <br />tl <br />Upon Motion made by Commissioner McCullers, seconded by Commissioner Robert Graves, aj <br />°3 <br />and unanimously carried, the County Attorney was requested to make an appointment with the <br />State Road Department at Fort Lauderdale at the earliest possible date and the Board would <br />go down there to discuss the re -alignment of U. S. #1 from Wabasso to Gifford. u <br />4: <br />Ed Schmucker stated hewould like to advertise for materials for the next six months <br />and other new pieces of equipment. Upon Motion made by Commissioner W. C. Graves, Jr., <br />�i <br />seconded by Commissioner McCullers and unanimously carried, the Board authorized Mr. Schmucker;', <br />to go ahead and advertise. <br />Col. Leo M. O'Brien appeared before the Board and tendered his resignation as <br />Director of Civil Defense for the County. Said resignation was accepted with regret. <br />Upon motion made by Commissioner W. C. Graves, Jr., seconded by Commissioner Robert' <br />Graves and carried,, the Board appointed Ed Schmucker as Director of Civil Defense with Elmer <br />Harris as his assistant to do most of the work. <br />Mrs. Anne Christensen, Cpunty Welfare Case Worker appeared before the Board and gave'P� <br />a report of her activities for the month of December and said report was ordered filed by 6 <br />E <br />the Clerk. a <br />Mrs. Christensen said she needed to put a Mrs. Wursauff in a nursing home for a <br />1 40 <br />few months and stated she thought $50.00 a month for three months would take care of the <br />situation. The Board authorized her to go ahead on this basis. <br />�E <br />
