1.02 RESTORATION <br />All surfaces, as described, shall be completed as soon as is reasonable. In no case <br />shall the pavement or driveway replacement operation be unfinished for more than <br />10 days after backfilling unless otherwise directed by the Engineer. Replace all <br />damaged or cut pavement due to Contractor's operations; restore all pavement <br />outside of trench area that is damaged by the Contract at no expense to Owner. <br />1.03 GUARANTEE <br />All restored areas within the public right-of-way shall be guaranteed for one year. In <br />the event of settlement of paved areas more than one-quarter inch below the <br />undisturbed adjacent permanent pavement, the Contractor shall make the <br />necessary repairs to restore the pavement level within ten calendar days after <br />notification by the Owner. The cost of such repairs shall be paid by the Contractor. <br />PART 2 -- PRODUCTS <br />2.01 BASEROCK <br />Limerock, shellrock, and local rock shall conform to FDOT specifications, Section <br />911. <br />2.02 ASPHALTIC CONCRETE <br />A. Prime and Tack Coats: Prime and tack coats shall be applied to the <br />prepared baserock. Prime coat shall be cutback asphalt, Grade RC -70, MC - <br />30, or MC -70, complying with FDOT Specifications, Articles 300-1 through <br />300-7, applied at the average rate of 0.15 gallons per square yard. <br />Tack coat shall be emulsified asphalt, Grade RS -2, complying with FDOT <br />Specifications, Articles 300-1 through 300-7 respectively, applied at the <br />average rate of 0.10 gallons per square yard. The bituminous quantities are <br />considered as average and are subject to some variation at the discretion of <br />the Engineer and at no additional cost. <br />B. Plant Mix Wearing Surface: A plant mix wearing surface course shall be <br />constructed on the prepared limerock base. Materials and construction shall <br />conform with the requirements of FDOT Standard Specifications for Type S- <br />1 or S-3 (per drawing) Asphaltic Concrete, Section 331, and Articles 331-1 <br />through 331-4. The finished pavement replacement shall be smooth and <br />even with, or slightly above, the existing abutting pavement, but shall not <br />have any appreciable bump due to this slight elevation. <br />C.
