"Owner" is any individual, firm, association, syndicate, co -partnership, corp - <br />oration, trust or any other legal entity having sufficient proprietary interest in the land <br />sought to be subdivided to commence and maintain proceedings to subdivide the same under this <br />Resolution. <br />8. "Preliminary Plat" or "Tentative Plat" is the preliminary map, drawing or chart <br />indicating the proposed layout of the subdivision to be submitted to the County Engineer and/ <br />or County Commissioners for their consideration. <br />9. 1°Streets" and "Alleys". "Street" is a way for vehicular traffic, whether de - <br />signated as a street, highway, thoroughfare, parkway, throughway, road, avenue, boulevard, <br />place or however otherwise designated. <br />(a) "Alley" is a minor way which is used primarily for vehicular service access <br />to the back or the side of properties otherwise abutting on a street. <br />(b) "Arterial Street" is a fact or heavy traffic street of considerable con- <br />tinuity and used primarily as a traffic artery for inter -communication among large areas. <br />(c) 1°Primary Street" is a heavy traffic road connecting arterial streets or <br />Major artery through the county. <br />(d) "Secondary Street" is a street of an existing or proposed 6 mile length or <br />more and/or which will provide access to arterial or primary roads. <br />(e) "Residential Street" is any subdivision street which does not dead end. <br />There is required 70' width when swale ditches are to be constructed, and 60' width when <br />curb and gutters are provided. <br />(f) "Cul -de -Sac" or "Dead-end Street10 is a minor street with only one outlet. <br />There is required 60' width when swale ditches are to be constructed and 50' width when curb <br />and gutters are provided. <br />(g) "Marginal Access Street" is a minor street which is parallel and adjacent <br />Y to arterial streets and which provides access to abutting properties and protection from <br />through travvid. <br />j (h) "Width, Streett°, is the shortest distance between the lines delineating the <br />I right-of-way of a street. <br />10. "Subdivider1° is any individual, firm, association, syndicate, co -partnership, <br />corporation, trust or any other legal entity commencing proceedings under this Resolution to <br />effect a subdivision of land hereunder for himself or for another. <br />11. "Subdivision11 is the division of a parcel of land into two or more lots or par - <br />cels for the purpose of transfer of ownership or building development, or, if a new street is <br />involved, any division of a parcel of land; provided that a division of land which may be <br />ordered or approved by a court or effected by testamentary pr intestate provisions not in- <br />volving a new street shall not be deemed a subdivision. The term includes resubdivision and, <br />when appropriate to the context, shall relate to the process of subdividing or to the land <br />divided. <br />P <br />
