F'320 V1 0 Is-3 19 Mr. Schmucker stated he had received word from the State Road Department that they were only going to resurface SR 512. The Board requested that Mr. Schinucker and Mr. Lloyd of Lloyd Engineering firm go to the State Road Department office in Fort Lauderdale and get a clearance for the County and the City of Sebastian to tearing down the grade and placing of the rock before the State Road Department started their work. 2 Mr. Goodridge of the Indian River.Memorial Hospital appeared before the Board and stated they would like to continue on the Hospital Indigent program and to receive the $15,000.00 appropriation from the County in our 1958-59 budget. Rev. Owen of Wabasso appeared before the Board and wanted to know if anything could be done to stop the beach buggies from riding the beach. He was told it would take an act of Legislature. He said he would like to have such an act passed at the next session of the Legislature. Mrs. Anne Christensen, County Welfare Case Worker appeared before the Board and gave her report for the month of May and said report was ordered filed by the Clerk. Sam Joyce, Sheriff requested that the good-time off for John F. Markle who was sentenced to three months in jail for driving while intoxicated be revoked, as Mr. Markle has 'i been a troublesome prisoner since he has been in jail. Mr. Joyce further stated he would be j allowed 15 days off for good behavior. Upon Motion made by Commissioner McCullers, seconded by Commissioner W. C. Graves and unanimously carried, the Board revoked the good-time off of Mr. John F. Markle. Upon Motion made by Commissioner W. C. Graves, Jr., seconded by Commissioner Mc - Cullers and unanimously carried, the Subdivision Regulations in their printed and final form were adopted. Upon Motion made by Commissioner W. C. Graves, Jr., seconded by Commissioner Hamilton and unanimously carried, the following Resolution was adopted: R E S O L U T I O N -- Purchase of Land for Public Beach WHEREAS, Indian River County, acting by and through its Board of County Commissionerp is duly authorized by the laws of the State of Florida to acquire, own, develop and maintain public parks; and, WHEREAS, there exists a great need in this County for a public park fronting on the Atlantic Ocean to provide not only public park facilities but to permit ready access to the Atlantic Ocean by the general public for bathing purposes; and, WHEREAS, the United States of America, acting by and through the Bureau of Land .Management of the Department of the Interior is the owner of and has available for acquisitions by public bodies such as Indian River County the following described lands, situated in Indian River County, Florida: Township 32 South, Range 40 East, Tallahassee Meridian, Florida, Section 20, Lot 1, the East 10 acres, as shown in plat of survey approved December 26, 1859, except the South 1,000 feet (7.8 acres) containing 2.2 acres, now in Indian River County, Florida. a �i fI 0 1 1 0 1 i 1 1 0
