The Board requested that Mr. Schinucker and Mr. Lloyd <br />of Lloyd Engineering firm go to the State Road Department office in Fort Lauderdale and get <br />a clearance for the County and the City of Sebastian to tearing down the grade and placing of <br />the rock before the State Road Department started their work. <br />2 <br />Mr. Goodridge of the Indian River.Memorial Hospital appeared before the Board and <br />stated they would like to continue on the Hospital Indigent program and to receive the <br />$15,000.00 appropriation from the County in our 1958-59 budget. <br />Rev. Owen of Wabasso appeared before the Board and wanted to know if anything could <br />be done to stop the beach buggies from riding the beach. He was told it would take an act <br />of Legislature. He said he would like to have such an act passed at the next session of the <br />Legislature. <br />Mrs. Anne Christensen, County Welfare Case Worker appeared before the Board and <br />gave her report for the month of May and said report was ordered filed by the Clerk. <br />Sam Joyce, Sheriff requested that the good-time off for John F. Markle who was <br />sentenced to three months in jail for driving while intoxicated be revoked, as Mr. Markle has <br />'i <br />been a troublesome prisoner since he has been in jail. Mr. Joyce further stated he would be j <br />allowed 15 days off for good behavior. Upon Motion made by Commissioner McCullers, seconded <br />by Commissioner W. C. Graves and unanimously carried, the Board revoked the good-time off <br />of Mr. John F. Markle. <br />Upon Motion made by Commissioner W. C. Graves, Jr., seconded by Commissioner Mc - <br />Cullers and unanimously carried, the Subdivision Regulations in their printed and final form <br />were adopted. <br />Upon Motion made by Commissioner W. C. Graves, Jr., seconded by Commissioner <br />Hamilton and unanimously carried, the following Resolution was adopted: <br />R E S O L U T I O N -- Purchase of Land for Public Beach <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County, acting by and through its Board of County Commissionerp <br />is duly authorized by the laws of the State of Florida to acquire, own, develop and maintain <br />public parks; and, <br />WHEREAS, there exists a great need in this County for a public park fronting on <br />the Atlantic Ocean to provide not only public park facilities but to permit ready access to <br />the Atlantic Ocean by the general public for bathing purposes; and, <br />WHEREAS, the United States of America, acting by and through the Bureau of Land <br />.Management of the Department of the Interior is the owner of and has available for acquisitions <br />by public bodies such as Indian River County the following described lands, situated in <br />Indian River County, Florida: <br />Township 32 South, Range 40 East, Tallahassee Meridian, Florida, <br />Section 20, Lot 1, the East 10 acres, as shown in plat of survey <br />approved December 26, 1859, except the South 1,000 feet (7.8 acres) <br />containing 2.2 acres, now in Indian River County, Florida. <br />a <br />�i <br />fI <br />0 <br />1 <br />1 <br />0 <br />1 <br />i <br />1 <br />1 <br />0 <br />
