In the south part of the county, some of the projects underway include : <br /> *The 3 ,300 square foot Dr. StewartAnimal Clinic at 890 Old Dixie Highway; <br /> * Four 7, 500 square foot contractor trades buildings at the intersection of 18d' Avenue SW and Oslo <br /> Road; <br /> *The 25 ,000 square foot Florida River Packing House at 6350 91 Street SW; <br /> *The Vero Mall redevelopment, which will use the old mall site to provide retail facilities including a <br /> grocery store and numerous retail outlets ; <br /> *Two 6 ,200 square foot warehouses , one at 430 3 `d Lane SW and one at 440 31 Lane SW; <br /> •A 10,000 square foot contractor trades building at 1452 Old Dixie Highway; <br /> *The Grand Royale, a 72 multi-family unit complex at 100 Vista Royale Blvd; <br /> *Village Walk South, a 102 unit multi-family subdivision at 620 6d, Avenue; <br /> • Citrus Springs Village , a multi-phase project with 54 lots on 29 acres east of 58th north of 5d' Street <br /> SW and 216 lots on 75 acres on 58' Avenue between 9th Street SW and the South Relief Canal : <br /> *Pointe West North Village, a 25 single-family lot subdivision between 161 Street and SR 60 ; <br /> • Carriage Lake, a 64 single-family lot subdivision at the intersection of Kings Highway and 81 Street; <br /> • Waters Edge , a 131 unit subdivision at the intersection of 1 s' Street SW and 32"1 Court SW; and <br /> • Waterford Lakes , a 265 single-family lot subdivision at the intersection of 121 Street and 161 Av- <br /> enue. <br /> Completed projects include : <br /> •A new Carraba 's restaurant in front of the old Vero Mall on US 1 ; <br /> *An 11 ,000 square foot contractors trade facility at 1000 Old Dixie Highway; <br /> •A 44, 000 square foot contractor trades facility north of Oslo Road between 33rd and 341 Avenue <br /> S W; <br /> •A 400 unit self storage complex south of Oslo Road and east of 181 Avenue SW; <br /> •A 13 ,200 square foot warehouse at 9015 161 Place ; <br /> •The Vineyards , a 59 single-family lot subdivision on the east side of 43 " Avenue south of 1 S' Street <br /> SW; and <br /> *Hunters Run, a 39 single-family lot subdivision south of Oslo Road between 471 Avenue SW and <br /> 58th Avenue . <br /> MAJOR INITIATIVES <br /> Indian River County continued with its overall program of improving the management ofthe County and followed <br /> through on many ofthe activities identified in the previous year. Major accomplishments for the 2001 -2002 fiscal <br /> year (FY 2002) listed below demonstrate what taxpayer dollars were used for in the prior year and sets a <br /> framework for the organization ' s goals for the 2002 -2003 fiscal year (FY 2003 ) . <br /> Fairgrounds Agricultural Arena <br /> The Florida Department ofAgriculture and Consumer Services awarded a $ 391 , 000 grant to Indian River <br /> County for improvements at the Arena. Sandblasting and painting ofthe livestock pavilion for $ 154,000 was <br /> completed in FY 2002 . Construction of a second exhibition building to the south of the current exhibition <br /> building is planned in FY 2003 . <br /> iv <br />
