After some <br />further discussion and upon Motion made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner <br />Gifford and unanimously adopted, the Board accepts the recommendation of the State Board of <br />Health to join with Osceola County in a two -county Health Unit and with Mr. Tom Miller as <br />supervisoring Sanitarian beginning March 1, 1959. <br />E. E. Carter appeared before the Board representing Mr. George S. Dales who has a <br />subdivision on Pine Island, and stated they would like to build a bridge from Wabasso Bridge <br />Island to Pine Island, He further stated this would be on County right of way but if the <br />Commissioners would use their equipment that Mr. Dales would pay for the materials to put the <br />bridge in. He also stated that the County would have to obtain a permit from the War Departm <br />to put such a bridge in. The County Engineer tentative estimated that the cost of the materia; <br />would run around One Thousand Dollars. Upon Motion made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded <br />by Commissioner McCullers, and unanimously carried, the Board authorized the County Engineer <br />obtain the permit and if same was obtained to proceed with this work as soon as he thought <br />it would be safe to move the equipment in. <br />A letter was received from the Roseland Woman's Club requesting the County designate;;, <br />the Roseland Woman's Club as custodians of the Community Building in Roseland. Upon Motion <br />made.by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner McCullers and unanimously carried, <br />the Board designated the Roseland Woman's Club as custodians of the Community Building in <br />Roseland. <br />The Chairman stated that Rev. Owens from Wabasso had contacted him and would like <br />to renew the lease of the Wabasso Civic Club as they had in the past and they would forget <br />the lifeguard, Upon Motion made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner McCullersY <br />and carried, the Board agreed to renew the lease as before. <br />The Board requested the County Attorney to contact the State Road Department to see <br />if there was any possibility that State Road 60 could be designated a Federal Highway. <br />Upon Motion made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner Gifford and <br />carried, the Board authorized the payment of insurance premium to the Stringer Insurance <br />Agency to cover a trip for the 4-H club to the Florida State Fair. <br />Audit Report #4875 covering records of the Tax Assessor and Tax Collector was pre- <br />sented to the Board and was ordered filed as a part of the public records of the Board pur- <br />suant to Section 21.121(3) Florida Statutes. <br />At this time the Board of County Commissioners entered into a conference with re- <br />presentAtives of the Hospital and the Pilot Club with respect to the contemplated construction@ <br />of a nursing home. No action was taken by the Board, however, they requested the Hospital <br />Board work out a tentative plan and layout for a nursing home. <br />The Board requested the County Engineer contact a consulting engineering firm and <br />get an estimate of what the cost of a survey would be for future extension and location plans <br />for future courthouse extension and/or building, and report back to the Board. <br />The County Engineer requested permission to obtain an appraisal on two pieces of <br />property on 6th Avenue between 12th and 14th Streets upon which he had been unable to obtain a <br />f= tl <br />�I <br />'r -i91 <br />
