Reason for change order: The Contract drawings specified extending 160 LF of 4" PVC to provide water services for seven homes into an area that was not properly platted. This extension was designed to minimize the long service lines that were needed to reach these homes . However, upon installation of this water main it was determined that the location at which this pipe ended was not in a suitable location and that it did not adequately serve the purpose for minimizing the long service line. Therefore, an additional 120 LF of 4" PVC water main was needed in which the shorter service lines provide a better water pressure to the house.
