• Big Brothers Big Sisters of Indian River County, Jump into Reading, Children's Services Advisory Committee <br /> G. TIMETABLE (Section G not to exceed one page) <br /> 1 . List the major action steps, activities, or cycles of events that will occur within the <br /> program year. New programs should include any start-up planning that may occur <br /> outside the funding year. In completing the timetable, review information detailed in <br /> prior sections. <br /> Month/Period Activities <br /> 1 " Week Inquiry calls are received from Volunteers and Parents . Orientation is <br /> scheduled . <br /> 2nd Week Orientation occurs . Volunteers fill out application and complete <br /> background screening. Simultaneously, the school selects students who <br /> need the service and sends home application/release forms to be signed <br /> and returned by parents . <br /> Weeks 3 — 5 Reference and background screening results are returned . Volunteers <br /> receive a volunteer interview. Preferences and schedules are <br /> determined . Simultaneously, the Parent applications/release forms are <br /> returned and the clients receive a child interview at the school as well <br /> as pre-testing. Assessments are completed, baseline data is recorded <br /> and decisions about potential matches are made. <br /> Week 5 Mentor and Reading Trainings are given . Case Manager completes a <br /> case plan with input from all parties. <br /> Week 6 The Mentor is invited to the school . The Case Manager reviews school <br /> rules and introduces the mentor to the child and his/her teacher. The <br /> Case Manager shows both parties materials and location they will meet . <br /> Case Manager reviews the goals in the case plan. The Case Manager <br /> spends the first thirty-minute session together with both match parties. <br /> Week 8 Within the 1 '` two weeks of the match, the Case Manager contacts the <br /> mentor, child and teacher for the purposes of supervision and support. <br /> Thereafter, supervision is once per month if by telephone and a <br /> minimum of by-monthly if in person . <br /> Quarterly Assessment of grades and FOAR is completed . <br /> April Volunteer Appreciation Event is held. <br /> May Post-testing is done . Data is recorded and compared with baseline <br /> information. <br /> On-going 9 month follow-up is done with clients who have been terminated to <br /> determine long-range benefits of service <br /> 14 <br />
