TECHNICAL PROVISIONS <br /> STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS <br /> All work of this Contract shall conform to the applicable technical specifications of <br /> Florida Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Road and <br /> Bridge Construction , 2004 , and Supplements thereto as noted in the Special <br /> Provisions and addenda thereto , except as modified and supplemented <br /> hereinafter. Reference to Article numbers herein -after apply to the FDOT <br /> Standard Specifications , and reference in FDOT Standard Specifications to <br /> Department shall be taken as the Owner or its appointed Representative . <br /> Wherever the Specifications , Supplementals , etc , may refer to the " Owner ' , <br /> " Department" , " State of Florida Department of Transportation " , or words relating <br /> to offices of State Government , such words shall be taken as meaning Owner or <br /> Indian River County , Florida . Wherever the word Resident Engineer appears , it <br /> shall be taken to mean an authorized representative of the Owner' s Engineer on <br /> the Project ( Resident Construction Inspector) who will act as an agent for Indian <br /> River County , assigned to observe the progress quantity and quality of the work. ..� <br /> 1 . MOBILIZATION <br /> Perform preparatory work and operations in mobilizing for beginning work on the <br /> project , including , but not limited to , those operations necessary for the <br /> movement of personnel , equipment , supplies , and incidentals to the project site , <br /> and for the establishment of temporary offices , buildings , safety equipment and <br /> first aid supplies , and sanitary and other facilities . <br /> Include the costs of bonds and any required insurance and any other <br /> preconstruction expense necessary of the start of the work , excluding the cost of <br /> construction materials . <br /> Payment shall be made under: <br /> Item No , 1 Lump Sum •r <br /> 21 . MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC <br /> A . General : Work under this section consists of maintaining traffic within the <br /> limits of the project for the duration of construction in accordance with the <br /> U . S . Department of Transportation ' s Manual On Uniform Traffic Control <br /> Devices ( MUTCD ) 2000 Edition , FDOT Index 600 Series and FDOT <br /> Standard Specification Section 102 . The purpose of the Traffic Control <br /> Plan , presented in the roadway construction plans , is to depict the concept <br /> of feasible construction sequencing and maintenance of traffic . The <br /> Contractor may submit to the Engineer an alternate plan for review and <br /> approval , one week prior to the preconstruction conference . The Traffic <br /> Control Plan indicates typical signing , marking and barricade locations and <br /> types . Additional details are found in the MUTCD , FDOT Index (600 <br /> Series ) and Standard Specifications , The Contractor shall install only new .. <br /> TCP signs and shall be Engineer grade . <br /> TECBMCIAL PROVISION <br /> TP - 1 <br /> ■r <br />
