rr <br /> 1 . 3 GENERAL <br /> r <br /> A . Do not begin any other construction work until the pollution control and <br /> treatment system has been constructed in accordance with approved <br /> dw plans and approved for use by the OWNER and applicable permitting <br /> authorities . <br /> �• B . From time to time , the OWNER or ENGINEER will inspect the pollution <br /> control and treatment system and may take effluent samples for analysis <br /> by a testing laboratory selected and paid for by the OWNER . If at any <br /> .. time , the OWNER or ENGINEER determines that the pollution control and <br /> treatment system is not in compliance with the approved system , the <br /> OWNER or ENGINEER will shut the portion of the project down that is not <br /> in compliance , and it shall remain shut-down until the pollution control and <br /> treatment system is properly constructed or repaired , and complies with <br /> the approved pollution control and treatment system plans and <br /> specifications . <br /> C . Schedule construction to minimize erosion and stormwater runoff from the <br /> construction site . Implement erosion control measures on disturbed areas <br /> as soon as practicable in portions of the site where construction activities <br /> have temporarily or permanently ceased , but in no case more than 7 days <br /> after the construction activity in that portion of the site has temporarily or <br /> permanently ceased . <br /> D . Inspect each pollution control system at least once per day . Clean and <br /> maintain each pollution control system as required by its manufacturer or <br /> the OWNER , until the system is no longer needed . If a water quality <br /> violation occurs , immediately cease all work contributing to the water <br /> quality violation and correct the problem . <br /> E . Discharge shall not violate State or local water quality standards in the <br /> receiving waters , nor cause injury to the public health or to public or <br /> private property, nor to the Work completed or in progress . The receiving <br /> point for water from construction operations shall be approved by the <br /> applicable regulatory agency and the ENGINEER . <br /> F . Promptly repair all damage at no cost to the OWNER . <br /> 1 . 4 SUBMITTALS <br /> A . Shop Drawings : Submit shop drawings of the proposed pollution control <br /> and treatment systems in accordance with Article 6 . 17 of the General <br /> Conditions . <br /> B .
