i <br /> 1 . 3 GENERAL <br /> i <br /> A. Do not begin any other construction work until the pollution control and <br /> treatment system has been constructed in accordance with approved plans and <br /> approved for use by the OWNER and applicable permitting authorities . <br /> B . From time to time , the OWNER or ENGINEER will inspect the pollution control <br /> and treatment system and may take effluent samples for analysis by a testing <br /> laboratory selected and paid for by the OWNER . If at anytime, the OWNER or <br /> ENGINEER determines that the pollution control and treatment system is not in <br /> compliance with the approved system , the OWNER or ENGINEER will shut the <br /> portion of the project down that is not in compliance , and it shall remain shut- <br /> down until the pollution control and treatment system is properly constructed or <br /> repaired , and complies with the approved pollution control and treatment <br /> system plans and specifications. <br /> C . Schedule construction to minimize erosion and stormwater runoff from the <br /> construction site. Implement erosion control measures on disturbed areas as <br /> soon as practicable in portions of the site where construction activities have <br /> temporarily or permanently ceased , but in no case more than 7 days after the <br /> construction activity in that portion of the site has temporarily or permanently <br /> ceased . <br /> i <br /> D . Inspect each pollution control system at least once per day. Clean and <br /> i maintain each pollution control system as required by its manufacturer or the <br /> OWNER , until the system is no longer needed . If a water quality violation <br /> occurs , immediately cease all work contributing to the water quality violation and <br /> ,o correct the problem . <br /> E . Discharge shall not violate State or local water quality standards in the receiving <br /> ,W waters , nor cause injury to the public health or to public or private property, nor <br /> to the Work completed or in progress. The receiving point for water from <br /> construction operations shall be approved by the applicable regulatory agency <br /> on and the ENGINEER . <br /> F . Promptly repair all damage at no cost to the OWNER . <br /> 1 .4 SUBMITTALS <br /> i <br /> A. Shop Drawings : Submit shop drawings of the proposed pollution control and <br /> treatment systems in accordance with Article 6 . 17 of the General Conditions . <br /> i <br /> B .
