1 SECTION 01014 <br /> ' MAINTENANCE OF OPERATIONS <br /> 1 . 1 GENERAL <br /> A . Schedule and perform the Work in a manner such that the OWNER can keep <br /> ' existing facilities in continuous dependable operation . <br /> Be Perform all construction necessary to complete connections and tie- <br /> , ins/shutdowns to existing facilities . <br /> C . Keep existing facilities in operation unless otherwise specifically permitted in <br /> these specifications or approved in writing by the OWNER . Maintain existing <br /> drainage during construction . <br /> 1 . 2 GENERAL CONSTRAINTS <br /> A . Furnish any temporary work, facilities , roads , walks , protection of existing <br /> ' structures , piping , blind flanges , valves , equipment , etc . that may be required to <br /> maintain continuous and dependable operation of existing systems , at no extra <br /> cost to the OWNER: <br /> Be Schedule the Work in such a manner so that all existing systems are maintained <br /> in continuous operation . All short-term system or partial system shutdowns shall <br /> be approved in writing by the OWNER . If, in the opinion of the ENGINEER, a <br /> shutdown Is not required in order to perform the Work, utilize alternative methods <br /> to accomplish the Work. Schedule and coordinate all shutdowns at times <br /> r suitable to the OWNER . Provide the OWNER with a minimum of 7 days notice <br /> of the need for any system shutdown . <br /> C . Required shutdowns shall not begin until all materials are on -hand , pre- <br /> assembled (as possible ) , and ready for installation . At a time approved by the <br /> 1 OWNER , the shutdown period will commence and the CONTRACTOR shall <br /> proceed with the work continuously, start to finish , until the work is completed <br /> and the system is tested , cleared for service , and ready for operation . If the <br /> I CONTRACTOR completes all required work before the specified shutdown <br /> period has ended , the OWNER may immediately place the system back in <br /> service . <br /> iD .
