SECTION 02225 <br /> ' EROSION CONTROL AND TREATMENT OF DEWATERING WATER AND <br /> STORMWATER FROM THE CONSTRUCTION SITE <br /> ' PART 1 — GENERAL <br /> 1 . 1 SCOPE <br /> A . This Section covers erosion control and the treatment of dewatering water <br /> and stormwater runoff from the construction site and work area . The <br /> pollution control measures shall prevent turbid or otherwise polluted <br /> waters from being discharged from the construction site or work area , to <br /> ' undeveloped portions of the site or off-site . <br /> B . The OWNER considers pollution from dewatering water and stormwater <br /> runoff from a construction site or work area to be a very serious offense . <br /> The CONTRACTOR is solely responsible for preventing pollution caused <br /> by dewatering water and stormwater runoff from the construction site or <br /> work area . <br /> C . The pollution control measures specified herein represent minimum <br /> standards to be adhered to by the CONTRACTOR throughout the <br /> Project' s construction . The OWNER reserves the right to require the <br /> CONTRACTOR to employ additional pollution control measures , when in <br /> the sole opinion of the OWNER , they are warranted . If site specific <br /> conditions require additional erosion and stormwater pollution control <br /> measures during any phase of construction or operation to prevent <br /> erosion or to control sediment or other pollution , beyond those specified in <br /> the Drawings or herein , implement additional best management practices <br /> as necessary , in accordance with Chapter 4 , " Best Management Practices <br /> for Erosion and Sedimentation Control " of the Florida Erosion and <br /> Sediment Control Inspector' s Manual , included herein in Appendix " B " . <br /> ' D . The OWNER may terminate this Contract if the CONTRACTOR fails to <br /> comply with this Section . Alternatively , the OWNER may halt the <br /> ' CONTRACTOR' s operations until the CONTRACTOR is in full compliance <br /> with this Section . If the OWNER halts the CONTRACTOR' s work as a <br /> result of its failure to comply with this Section , the Construction Contract <br /> ' time clock will continue to run . <br /> E .
