S <br /> C . Schedule construction to minimize erosion and stormwater runoff from the <br /> construction site . Implement erosion control measures on disturbed areas <br /> as soon as practicable in portions of the site where construction activities <br /> have temporarily or permanently ceased , but in no case more than 7 days <br /> ' after the construction activity in that portion of the site has temporarily or <br /> permanently ceased . <br /> ' D . Inspect each pollution control system at least once per day . Clean and <br /> maintain each pollution control system as required by its manufacturer or <br /> the OWNER , until the system is no longer needed . If a water quality <br /> violation occurs , immediately cease all work contributing to the water <br /> quality violation and correct the problem . <br /> E . Discharge shall not violate State or local water quality standards in the <br /> receiving waters , nor cause injury to the public health or to public or <br /> private property, nor to the Work completed or in progress . The receiving <br /> tpoint for water from construction operations shall be approved by the <br /> applicable regulatory agency and the ENGINEER . <br /> ' F . Promptly repair all damage at no cost to the OWNER . <br /> 1 . 4 SUBMITTALS <br /> ' A . Shop Drawings : Submit shop drawings of the proposed pollution control <br /> and treatment systems in accordance with Section 1340 . <br /> 1 . 5 " POLLUTION " AND CERTAIN UNCONTESTABLE POLLUTION EVENTS <br /> 1 DEFINED <br /> A . Except as may be defined otherwise in paragraphs 1 . 6 . 13 , 1 . 6 . C , and <br /> 1 . 6 . D , " pollution " is the presence in off-site waters of any substances , <br /> tcontaminants , or manmade or human-induced : impairment of waters or <br /> alteration of the chemical , physical , biological , or radiological integrity of <br /> ' water in quantities or at levels which are or may be potentially harmful or <br /> injurious to human health or welfare , animal or plant life , or property . <br /> Pollutants to be removed include but are not limited to , sediment and <br /> ' suspended solids , solid and sanitary wastes , phosphorus , nitrogen , <br /> pesticides , oil and grease , concrete truck washout , construction <br /> chemicals , and construction debris . <br /> ' B . When the Discharge is Directly Into an Existing Water Body , Pollution <br /> Occurs When . . .
