1 . <br /> ' SECTION 01630 <br /> ' SUBSTITUTES AND " OR-EQUALS " <br /> 1 . 1 GENERAL <br /> A . Requests for review of a substitution shall conform to the requirements of <br /> ' Article 6 . 05 of the General Conditions , and shall contain complete data <br /> substantiating compliance of the proposed substitution with the Contract <br /> Documents . <br /> ' 1 . 2 CONTRACTOR'S OPTIONS <br /> A . For materials or equipment ( hereinafter products ) specified only by reference <br /> standard , select product meeting that standard by any manufacturer, fabricator, <br /> supplier or distributor ( hereinafter manufacturer) . To the maximum extent possible , <br /> ' provide products of the same generic kind from a single source . <br /> B . For products specified by naming several products or manufacturers , select any <br /> ' one of the products or manufacturers named which complies with Specifications . <br /> C . For products specified by naming one or more products or manufacturers and <br /> ' stating "or equivalent" or "or-equal , " submit one of those named products or an <br /> Is or "or-equal " product for the ENGINEER ' s review. <br /> ' D . For products specified by naming only one product or manufacturer and followed by <br /> words indicating that no other product is permitted , there is no option . <br /> 1 . 3 SUBSTITUTIONS <br /> A. During a period of 15 days after date of commencement of Contract Time , <br /> ENGINEER will consider written requests from CONTRACTOR for substitution of <br /> products or manufacturers , and construction methods ( if specified ) . <br /> ' 1 . After end of specified period , requests will be considered only in case of <br /> unavailability of product or other conditions beyond control of CONTRACTOR . <br /> ' B . Submit 5 copies of Request for Substitution . Submit a separate request for each <br /> substitution . In addition to requirements set forth in Article 6 . 05 of the General <br /> Conditions , include in the request the following : <br /> ' 1 . For products or manufacturers : <br /> a .
