TUESDAY ;D1:10. 196x1 The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida met at the Courthouse, Vero Beach, Florida in a regular meeting held at 9:00 o'clock A.M., Tuesday, January 10, 1961. All members were present. Also present were Ed Schmucker, County Engineer; G orge:aHCathipiAttorney; and Katherine'Morrison, Deputy Clerk. Robert Graves, Chairman turned the Chair over to George Heath, Attorney. The Acting Chairman, George Heath, stated the first order of business is the election of a Chairman and called for nominations. Commissioner Waddell, made a Motion that all present:serving officials for the year 1960 be continued for the ensuing year 1961 and the following County employees be re-employed for the ensuing year: Sherman N. Smith, Jr., Attorney for the Board; Anne Christensen, County Welfare Case Worker, Gladys Vigliano, Clerk in the Welfare Office; James E. Roberts, County Service Officer; Edwin S. Schmucker, Jr., County Engineer; Forrest N. MCCullars, County Agent; Thomas Thompson, Janitor. This Motion was seconded by Commissioner Hamilton and unanimously carried. The Acting Chairman, then turned the meeting over to Chairman Robert Graves. The Chairman asked if there were any changes or additions to be made to the minutes of December 6th and December 20th. There were none and upon Motion made by Commissioner Hamilton, seconded by Commissioner Mc - Cullers and unanimously carried, the minutes were approved as read. A letter was read from Richard L. Sudbrock of Okeechobee requesting that Oslo road be extended all the way across Indian River County where it could eventually extend across the State to Bradenton. Said letter was ordered filed. The Indian River County Hospital filed their Financial Statement ending September 30, 1960 and a tentative budget for the year January 1, 1961 to December 31, 1961 with the Board.
