RESOLUTION NO. 61-1 <br />WHEREAS, one of the lawful and authorized purposes and <br />functions of the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, i <br />the establishment and maintenance of public parks for the use and <br />benefit of the general public; and, <br />WHEREAS, this County has heretofore established such public <br />park but does not have such a public park bordering upon or in the Indian <br />River; and, <br />WHEREAS, the State of Florida, acting by and through the <br />Trustees of the Internal Improvement Fund, is the owner of a parcel of prop- <br />erty hereinafter described, located upon an island in the Indian River which is <br />accessible from the bridge across the Indian River known as State Road 510, <br />which said island has the possibilities upon development of an attractive site <br />as a public park permitting access by the general public to and from the Indian <br />River with boating and fishing, as well as the usual and normal attributes for <br />a public park; Now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of <br />Indian River County, Florida, that this Board does herewith respectfully <br />request the Trustees of the Internal Improvement Fund of the State of Florida <br />to dedicate for public park and recreation purposes under the supervision and <br />control of the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County all of <br />the following described property, situated in Indian River County, Florida, <br />to -wit: <br />Being a parcel of land located on an island in the Indian <br />River on the South side of Wabasso Road in Section 27, <br />Township 31 South, Range 39 East, Indian River County, <br />Florida, the boundary of which is more particularly <br />described by metes and bounds as follows: <br />From the Northeast corner of aforesaid Section•27, <br />Township 31 South, Range 39 East, run North 88 <br />degrees 34 minutes 54 seconds West a distance of 683 <br />feet; thence run South 47 degrees 53 minutes 56 seconds <br />West a distance of 595 feet to a point near the East end <br />of the East Wabasso Bridge; thence run South 51 degrees <br />47 minutes 56 seconds West near the centerline of afore- <br />said bridge a distance of 1482.52 feet to a point near the <br />West end of the aforesaid bridge; said point being the <br />SMITH, DIAMOND 8 HEATH, ATTORNEYS AT LAW, VERO BEACH, FLORIDA <br />• <br />
