The last item requested bids on one towed type aggregate spreader. <br />Bids were received as follows: <br />M. D. Moody & Sons, Inc. bid $1857.00 <br />No other bids were received and Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald,; <br />seconded by Commissioner McCullers and unanimously carried, to accept the <br />only bid received of Moody & Sons in the amount of $1857.00. <br />Ellis Duncan was recognized by the Chair and stated that he was the <br />spokesman for a delegation from the Rosewood P.T.A. and they were appearing <br />before the Board for the purpose of obtaining a bicycle path on 16th Street <br />from Belmont Park S/D to the Rosewood School. He further stated they would <br />be satisfied with marl or rock or anything. The Chairman asked the County <br />Engineer if he had figured how much it would cost with Asphalt or maybe <br />Concrete. The County Engineer stated a rough estimate would be around <br />$5,000.00 for an asphalt walkway and about $6500.00 for a concrete walkway. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Mac- <br />donald and unanimously carried, that the County Engineer be requested to <br />investigate the possibility of the City aiding us in this project and <br />report back to the Board at the next meeting. And further the Board is <br />only interested in a concrete walkway. <br />A delegation from Roseland appeared before the Board and requested <br />that the County open up the ditch which had been closed because of a <br />request from Mrs. Hansen and others. The County Engineer stated that <br />Ed Carter of Carter Engineering had called him last week and said he had <br />been hired by Mrs. Hansen to do some surveying, etc. in this area for the <br />reason that Mrs. Hansen wants to put in a subdivision, and that after Mr. <br />Carter made his survey he might come up with some solution to the drainage <br />problem in that area. After considerable discussion the Board requested <br />the County Engineer try to obtain a report from Carter Engineering on their <br />findings before the next Board meeting and report back at that time. <br />1,30 7 'PA:3E247 <br />
