<br />Affiant further says that the said Vero Beach Press -Journal is a newspaper published at

<br />been continuously published in said Indian River County, Florida, weekly and has been entered
<br />as second class mail matter at the post office in Vero Beach, in said Indian River County, Florida,
<br />for a period of one year next preceeding the first publication of the attached copy of advertisement;
<br />and affiant further says that he has neither paid nor promised any person, firm or corporation
<br />any discount, rebate, commission or refund for the purpose of securing this advertisement for

<br />NOTICE
<br />NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
<br />That the Board of County Commis-
<br />sioners of Indian River County,
<br />Florida, will receive sealed bids to
<br />the hour of 10:00 o'clock A. M. on
<br />January 24, 1961, and at said time
<br />publicly open the same in its of-
<br />fices in the Indian River County
<br />Courthouse, Vero Beach, Florida,
<br />for sale for cash, the following:
<br />Two (2) Light Rescue Vehicles
<br />for use of Indian River County
<br />Civil Defense. Vehicles must meet
<br />OCDM specifications CD VIII -168,
<br />having both standard and supple-
<br />mental Light Duty Tools and equip-
<br />ment. The term "Standard Equip-
<br />ment" to mean all items listed in
<br />Federal Contributions Manual AM
<br />25-1, revised September 1960. The
<br />term "Supplemental Equipment" to
<br />mean all supplemental equipment
<br />listed in the same manual including
<br />item VIII -177 (Resuscitator, mouth
<br />to mask, and case, with aspirator)
<br />to be substituted for item CD
<br />VIII -165 (inhalator, portable). Do
<br />Not include item 1-100 (Radio, mo-
<br />bile, 2 way) in bids. All equipment
<br />must meet OCDM approval as to
<br />quality, specifications and manu-
<br />facturer. Vehicles must be four
<br />wheel drive having power takeoff
<br />and front end winch (6000 lbs.),
<br />equipped with siren, spotlight on
<br />drivers side, and large red flash-
<br />ing emergency light. Vehicles to be
<br />painted approved Civil Defense Col-
<br />ors and letter "Rescue Service' on
<br />side panels (both sides) with 4"
<br />letters and large CD emblem be-
<br />tween words "Rescue" and "Serv-
<br />ice." Put words "Rescue" and
<br />"Service" on front and rear of
<br />trucks with small CD emblems on
<br />rear. Letter both doors 2" letters
<br />"Indian River County Civil De-
<br />fense." Vehicles to be panel body.
<br />The Board reserves the right to
<br />reject any and all bids.
<br />This 7th day of December, 1960.
<br />The foregoing Notice was
<br />read and the following bids received.

<br />Indian River Farm Supply Company Motion was made by Commissioner Waddell,
<br />and unanimously carried,
<br />Bid of $10,538.64
<br />Bid of $12,494.00
<br />seconded by Commissioner Hamilton,
<br />that the low bid by Roland Miller Chevrolet in
<br />the sum of $10,538.64 be accepted.
<br />Sheriff Sam Joyce appeared before the Board and
<br />get the State Road Department
<br />the North City limits of Vero
<br />requested the Board
<br />to reduce the speed limit on U.S. #1 from
<br />Beach to Wabasso to 55 miles per hour in
<br />daylight and 45 miles per hour at night. He further requested that the
<br />speed limit be set at 45 miles per hour on Clemans from Road 60 to Citrus
<br />Road and set at 45 miles per hour on Emerson from Road 60 to the South
<br />Relief Canal. Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by
<br />Commissioner McCullers and unanimously carried and the following Resolution
<br />was, adopted.
