1 to the Emergency Services Director or his designee . The Emergency Services Director <br /> or his designee shall meet with the grievant within five calendar days (excluding weekends <br /> or County-recognized holidays) of receipt of the written grievance . A union steward or a <br /> union representative may accompany the grievant at the meeting if the union is not the <br /> grievant. The Emergency Services Director or his designee shall reach a decision and <br /> communicate it in writing to the grievant with a copy to the union if it is not the grievant <br /> within ten calendar days (excluding weekends or County-recognized holidays) from the <br /> date of the grievance meeting . If the grievance is not satisfactorily resolved , the grievant <br /> may forward the grievance to Step 3 . <br /> Step 3 : The grievant shall present the written grievance within five calendar days <br /> (excluding weekends or County-recognized holidays) from the date of the decision at Step <br /> 2 to the County Administrator or his designee The County Administrator or his designee <br /> shall meet with the grievant within fifteen calendar days (excluding weekends or County- <br /> recognized holidays) of receipt of the written grievance . A union steward or a union <br /> representative may accompany the grievant at the meeting if the union is not the grievant. <br /> The County Administrator or his designee shall reach a decision . and communicate it in <br /> writing to the grievant with a copy to the union if it is not the grievant within ten calendar <br /> days (excluding weekends or County-recognized holidays) from the date the grievance was <br /> presented to him . If the grievance is not satisfactorily resolved , the grievant may forward <br /> the grievance to arbitration . <br /> 24 <br />
