ARTICLE 20 <br /> SUBSTITUTE EMPLOYMENT <br /> 20 . 01 The County agrees not to use , assign or, detail members of the bargaining <br /> unit as substitute employees to perform non-emergency service duties <br /> except where lives or property are in imminent danger. <br /> 20 .02 Volunteers may be used to replace a paid employee only temporarily and <br /> only with the approval of the Emergency Operations Assistant Chief. <br /> 20 . 03 Bargaining unit employees shall inform the Emergency Services Director, in <br /> writing , of any outside employment. Outside employment which interferes , or <br /> is incompatible , with County employment may be denied . No outside <br /> employment shall be, performed for any other employer less than eight (8) <br /> hours prior to the start of an employee's assigned shift. Exceptions may be <br /> granted by the Emergency Services Director, which exceptions shall not be <br /> unreasonably denied . <br /> 38 <br />
