26 . 02 ADDITIONAL MEDICAL LEAVE <br /> In deserving cases additional medical leave may be granted with the written <br /> approval from the Human Resources Department. <br /> 26 . 03 ACCRUAL <br /> Medical leave may be accumulated for a total of no more than one-hundred <br /> days at the employee's anniversary date. <br /> 26 . 04 USE OF MEDICAL LEAVE <br /> Medical Leave May Be Granted For The Following Purposes : <br /> A. Personal injury , pregnancy or illness not connected with work . <br /> B . Medical, dental , optical or chiropractic examination or treatment. <br /> Notice must be provided in advance . (Refer to "26 . 04 D . " for <br /> members of employee's family. ) <br /> C . Exposure to a contagious disease which would endanger others . <br /> D . Illness of a member of the employee's immediate family (Section <br /> 24 . 02) who lives permanently in the same domicile which requires the <br /> personal care and attention of the employee . No more than five <br /> working days a year may be taken for this purpose . Proof of illness <br /> may be required . <br /> E . Events in accordance with the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 . <br /> 47 <br />
