GeoSyntec Consultants <br /> Mr. Tanhum Goldshmid <br /> Indian River County, Solid Waste Disposal District <br /> 25 April 2006 <br /> Page 3 <br /> Task 2 — Preliminary System Cleaning, Repairs, and Re-start <br /> Under this task, GeoSyntec will perform field activities related to P&T system <br /> cleaning and re-starting. The budget assumes that two GeoSyntec personnel will be on-site <br /> for two days to disassemble (as needed), clean (using a pressure washer), reassemble, make <br /> minor repairs to leaking system components, and re-start the P&T system with flow <br /> directed to the infiltration gallery. <br /> Task 3 — O&M Site Visits <br /> Under this task, GeoSyntec has included budget for one person to conduct a total of 16 <br /> site visits, including twelve monthly O&M site visits and four P&T system sampling site <br /> visits (weekly sampling visits to be conducted the first month) . O&M site visits will <br /> include system cleaning (cleaning air stripper diffusers, submersible pumps, probes, etc.), <br /> as appropriate, recording flow meter readings, pressure gauge readings, changing bag <br /> filters, and backwashing the GAC, if warranted. Immediately after system re-start, <br /> sampling visits will be conducted according to the schedule outlined in the source <br /> excavation report and subsequently approved by FDEP in a letter dated 29 December 2005 : <br /> Samples of influent, effluent, and post-carbon effluent are anticipated to be collected <br /> based on the following schedule: <br /> I) at re-start (24 hour turnaround time); <br /> 2) weekly.for the remainder of the first month; <br /> 3) monthly for the remainder of the first six months of operation; and <br /> 4) semi-annually thereafter. <br /> Samples will be submitted to a laboratory contracted directly with IRC; therefore, <br /> budget has not been included herein for laboratory analysis. <br /> XR06084/CCR060027 — IRC Pump and Treat System Fee Pmposal.doc <br />
