ARTICLE 27 <br /> INSURANCE BENEFITS <br /> 27 . 01 The County shall provide insurance for all bargaining unit employees and their dependents in <br /> the same manner as the County' s general non-bargaining unit employees, including the <br /> retiree health insurance subsidy, hospitalization, and medical insurance. <br /> 27 . 02 The County shall maintain in full force and effect, and pay all premiums for, a life insurance <br /> policy on the life of each employee, payable to a beneficiary designated by the respective <br /> insured employee. Such life insurance policy shall be based on an amount equal to the <br /> employee' s annual salary to the nearest high thousand as of the month following the payroll <br /> change . <br /> 27. 03 Separation shall be effective as of the date of death. All compensation and benefits due to <br /> the employee as of the effective date of separation shall be paid to the beneficiary, surviving <br /> spouse, or estate of the employee as determined by law or by executed forms in the <br /> employee ' s personnel folder. <br /> 46 <br />
