G <br />return the employee to the position and status held immediately prior to the promotion. If the <br />employee's former position is filled, the employee may be transferred to a vacant position for <br />which the employee qualifies. If no vacancy exists for which the employee is qualified, the <br />employee will be placed in a lay-off status with recall rights. <br />18.06 Upon successful completion of their trial period, Fire Inspectors who have at least 5 years of <br />experience with Indian River County Emergency Services will be promoted to Lieutenant <br />Fire Inspector. <br />18.07 The following promotional process shall be followed: <br />EXAM SCORES TOTAL SCORE (300 Points max) <br />Multiple choice written test 100 Points max <br />Practical scenario test 200 Points max <br />(MINIMUM PASSING SCORE 210 POINTS COMBINED) <br />DEPARTMENT SERVICE <br />Total years of service completed <br />Total years in rank completed <br />EDUCATIONAL TRAINING <br />College degrees <br />Certifications <br />Educational courses <br />TOTAL SCORE (50 Points max) <br />1 point/year (25 Points max) <br />1 point/year (25 Points max) <br />TOTAL SCORE (100 Points max) <br />DISCIPLINARY RECORD <br />The following disciplinary records deduct points from the final raw score. The deduction applies <br />twelve full months from time of final disciplinary action. In the case of multiple disciplinary records, <br />they will count separately from each other and add together for a total point deduction. <br />Group 1 offense deduct 1 point <br />Group 2 offense deduct 3 points <br />Group 3 offense deduct 5 points <br />TOTAL MAXIMUM RAW SCORE 450 Points <br />EXAMINATION SCORES (300 Points max) <br />29 <br />
