ARTICLE 27 <br />INSURANCE BENEFITS <br />27.01 The County shall provide insurance for all bargaining unit employees and their dependents in <br />the same manner as the County's general non -bargaining unit employees, including the <br />retiree health insurance subsidy, hospitalization, and medical insurance. <br />27.02 The County shall maintain in full force and effect, and pay all premiums for, a life insurance <br />policy on the life of each employee, payable to a beneficiary designated by the respective <br />insured employee. Such life insurance policy shall be based on an amount equal to the <br />employee's annual salary to the nearest high thousand as of the month following the payroll <br />change. <br />27.03 Separation shall be effective as of the date of death. All compensation and benefits due to <br />the employee as of the effective date of separation shall be paid to the beneficiary, surviving <br />spouse, or estate of the employee as determined by law or by executed forms in the <br />employee's personnel folder. <br />
