Benefits of Automated Geodatabase Management <br /> Automated processes can perform manual work during hours when there is no staff working <br /> within the system . Running procedures overnight will eliminate users from experiencing <br /> interruptions due to data updates . The procedures also work automatically, keeping the <br /> data up -to-date and removing reliance on personnel to perform the updates. <br /> Recommendation <br /> After generating automated GIS layers , the County should procure GIS consultant services to <br /> automate the updating of automated layers . <br /> On-site and Off Site Consulting (Three Months - 42140.00) - Highest Priority <br /> Indian River County has benefited from procuring a GIS consultant to perform ad hoc <br /> analysis, data manipulation , system troubleshooting , and impromptu work on the GIS system . <br /> Performing impromptu GIS tasks allows for the GIS to keep up-to-data without relying on <br /> County personnel to be distracted from their business procedures. This work can include <br /> updating system files, service packs, and installing software on desktops. <br /> Recommendation <br /> Indian River County procures three (3 ) months of on -site and off-site consulting services from <br /> a qualified GIS company . <br /> Recommended Training for Remainder of Year One <br /> Introduction to ArcGIS 1 (7500.00) - Highest Priority <br /> This course will provide GIS users with GIS skills that will enhance their capability to use ArcGIS <br /> software in their normal business procedures. As the first part of a two part series, this course <br /> coupled with Introduction to ArcGIS II will provide significant training and GIS knowledge to <br /> Indian River County ' s GIS users . <br /> Recommendation <br /> Indian River County should provide training at Indian River County facility for up to 15 users <br /> through ESRI or Certified ESRI Trainer. <br /> Introduction to ArcGIS II (10,500.00) - Highest Priority <br /> This course will provide GIS users with skills that will further advance their capability to use <br /> ArcGIS software in their normal business procedures .
