The foregoing Notice was.read and only one bid received, which was <br />as follows; <br />C. T. Stockton, Inc. - 100 L.F. (Approx. 18" Concrete <br />Culvert Pipe @ $6.10 Ft. <br />1 L.S. Concrete Endwall <br />This is an approx. length of the pipe but the concrete <br />is•a lump sum item. <br />- $610.00 <br />210.00 <br />$820.00 <br />endwall <br />Motion -was made by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Hamilton <br />and carried, that the bid of C. T. Stockton, Inc. be approved as a lump <br />sum bid on the endwall and $6.10 per foot bid for the culvert pipe since <br />this is an approximate figure. <br />Mrs. W. C. Arthur representing the United Church Women's organization <br />appeared before the Board and stated that some time ago they had purchased <br />playgroung equipment for a colored park and said equipment was now in storage <br />however, a new recreational area has been opened up by the colored people <br />in Gifford and the Church Women would like to put their recreational equip- <br />ment adjacent to this center but do not have sufficient room/ Mrs. Arthur <br />statedthat the County owns a road right of way adjacent to the recreational <br />area which right of way has never been opened and would like to know if the <br />County would allow them to place their equipment on this right of way. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner McCullers, seconded by Commissioner Waddell <br />and unanimously carried, to allow this right of way to be utilized for a <br />playgroung with the understanding that if the County opens this road that <br />the playground equipment will be moved. <br />Harrison C. Jones appeared before the Board and stated that he lives <br />on old Dixie Highway and that the property around him had been rezoned to <br />C -1-A, Commercial District and would like to have his rezoned so that he <br />could allow a trailer to be parked on his property. He further stated that <br />the variance Board had allowed him to keep a trailer there for a year and <br />a half but had told him they would not allow another variance. The County <br />Engineer stated that the property surrounding Mr. Jones had been rezoned <br />but the people had given the necessary right of way for Commercial Zoning <br />and Mr. Jones had not. After some further discussion in the matter, Motion <br />was made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner Hamilton, and <br />
