be created. <br />Upon Motion made by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by <br />Commissioner Macdonald, and unanimously carried, the following <br />Resolution was adopted. <br />RESOLUTION <br />WHEREAS, ARTICLE VIII, Section 5, Constitution of the <br />State of Florida, provides that there shall be one County <br />Commissioner in each of the five County Commissioner's <br />districts in each county, which districts shall be numbered <br />one to five, inclusive, and shall be as nearly as possible <br />equal in proportion to population, and requires that the <br />Board of County Commissioners in the respective counties <br />shall from time to time fix the boundaries of such dis- <br />tricts; and, <br />WHEREAS, the increase and shift in population of Indian <br />River County, Florida, which have taken place since 1949 have <br />caused certain of the county commissioner's districts of said <br />county to become larger in proportion to population than other <br />of the county commissioner's districts of said county, by rea- <br />son of which it is now necessary to fix the boundaries of the <br />county commissioner's districts in said county to the end that <br />all five districts shall be as nearly as possible equal in pro- <br />portion to population; and, <br />WHEREAS, the members of this Board who are present at this <br />meeting of this Board have agreed unanimously on the fixing of <br />boundaries of the county commissioner's districts of Indian <br />River County, Florida, as is evidenced by this resolution, <br />now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED, that the boundaries of the county commis- <br />sioner's districts of Indian River County, Florida, be and the <br />same are hereby fixed, effective , as <br />follows and with each of said districts numbe ed as follows: <br />
