Additional photographs will be taken as warranted to support other monitoring
data.
• Soil surface elevations at 5400t increments will be survey - located along each transect .
Survey data will be recorded to an accuracy of ±0 . I foot .
• Geosyntec will assist the surveyor in identifying distinct features along the transect . Soil
surface elevations will be obtained at these locations . These features may include the
following :
o Upland/wetland interface ;
o Present water level ;
o Cypress buttress inflection points (no more than three individuals) ;
o Lower extent of lichen lines or upper extent of moss collars , watermarks , and the
lower edge of the saw palmetto fringe ;
o Changes in plant community types .
• All plants observed within 10 feet and parallel of each transect will be identified to the
lowest taxonomic level practicable .
• Diameter at breast height ( DBH ) will be recorded for woody species that have greater
than 1 . 0 - inch DBH .
• Soil data will be obtained at 2546ot increments along each transect (seven soil samples
per transect) . Soil characteristics (color, texture , and hydric soil indicators ) will be
recorded . Soil borings for this evaluation will be a minimum depth of 24 inches , except
in the case where open water is encountered .
