Plant, Facility #9600729 <br /> Vero Beach, FL 32962 <br /> Dear Mr. Southard, <br /> Geosyntec Consultants (Geosyntec) is pleased to submit this fee proposal to Indian River County <br /> (IRC) for professional services required to respond to Florida Department of Environmental <br /> Protection ' s (FDEP ' s) correspondence dated 19 February 2008 . The FDEP comments were <br /> generated based upon a review of Geosyntec' s 21 December 2007 letter report, Initial <br /> Assessment of Suspected Caustic Release, North RO Plant, Facility 49600729. Based upon <br /> FDEP ' s review of the letter report, the following additional tasks have been requested : <br /> • A determination of the site groundwater flow direction; <br /> • installation of piezeometers in the eastern area of pH impacted groundwater to provide <br /> complete lateral delineation; <br /> • installation of a monitoring well to provide vertical delineation of groundwater pH <br /> impacts; <br /> • collection and laboratory analyses of groundwater samples for sodium; and <br /> • the provision of a map to the FDEP with a proposed location for a site background <br /> monitoring well (to be installed upon FDEP approval at a later date). <br /> FRI329,CCR08028.D0C <br /> engineers I scientists I innovators <br />
