Community Health Access and Disparity, as well as give helpful feedback concerning the <br /> ` measurement of improved access implementation . <br /> Additionally, a centralized repository of GIS data would benefit not only the Health <br /> Department, but other departments which require access to Health Department specific <br /> data sets on occasion . Environmental health data being maintained in several databases <br /> can be spatially enabled and shared with other County departments; Community <br /> Development Planners and Utilities Services would greatly benefit from this data . <br /> It is recommended that ArcGIS should be implemented as the central GIS platform <br /> throughout Indian River County. Working from the same GIS platform will greatly simplify <br /> data sharing and access for the Health Department and other County departments . <br /> ArcGIS is recommended for the Health Department for the following functionality: <br /> " Storage of septic system permits, public health , and environmental health features <br /> the Health Department is responsible for maintaining <br /> • A centralized platform for accessing other County-wide GIS data layers , such as <br /> aerial photography, tax parcels, street centerlines, demographics , and more <br /> • A centralized platform for integration with existing enterprise systems and databases <br /> eGeo-Spatial Health Data Creation and Integration <br /> The Health Department stores much of its information in electronic databases that have <br /> addresses as an attribute; therefore spatially enabling these databases will yield important <br /> datasets for the GIS . It is recommended that information stored in paper or other type of <br /> hardcopy recording be entered into a database such as MS Access or MS SQL Server. Data <br /> from Centrax and Occulus should be attained on set intervals and mapped by address <br /> utilizing an automated address matching routine . Once this information is maintained as <br /> digital data , it can be spatially enabled for use in the County ' s GIS Health Department <br /> personnel expressed that access to the following GIS data layers would be beneficial : <br /> • Aerial Photography <br /> • Business Licenses <br /> • Capital Projects Data <br /> • Code Enforcement Data <br /> ® 0 Commercial Businesses <br /> • Clinical and Health Management Data <br /> • Crime Data <br /> • Demographics <br /> • Environmental Health Data <br /> • Flood Maps <br /> • FPL Data <br /> • Land Usage Data <br /> • Permits <br /> • Residences <br /> • Soils <br /> • Special Needs Citizens <br /> • Waste Management Data <br /> Water and Sewer Data <br /> Additional layers may be required as the Department increases its GIS utilization and <br /> incorporates additional data . <br /> 213 <br /> GIS Needs Assessment and Implementation Plan Chapter I - Departmental GIS Needs Assessment <br />
