4r <br />TUESDAY, May 8, 1962 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, met at <br />the Courthouse, Vero Beach, Florida, in a regular meeting held at 8:00 <br />o'clock, A. M., Tuesday, May 8, 1962. All members were present. Also <br />present were Ed Schmucker, County Engineer, John Gould, Attorney, Al <br />Webber and Freda Wright, Deputy Clerks. <br />The Chairman asked if there were any changes or additions to be <br />made to the minutes of April 10, 24 and 27, 1962. There were none and <br />upon Motion made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner` <br />Hamilton and unanimously carried, the minutes were approved as read. <br />Mrs. Gladys Vigliano, County Welfare Worker, gave an oral report of <br />some of her activities for the month of April and filed a written report <br />with the Board. Mrs. Vigliano asked the Board if they wished to furnish <br />medical aid to Cuban refugees. The Chairman stated that. the BoardLdid not <br />wish to furnish aid at this time. She also requested the Board to write <br />a letter to the Board of Trustees of the Indian River Hospital with <br />regard to purchasing medicine through the hospital for the indigent. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner McCullers, seconded by Commissioner <br />Macdonald and unanimously carried, that the Attorney write a letter from <br />this Board to their Board requesting their cooperation in this matter. <br />Mr. Robert Cammack appeared before the Board with regard to what had <br />been done towards opening the Roseland railroad crossing. The County <br />Attorney stated that he had written a letter to the Railroad and had <br />talked to Mr. H. F. Haan by telephone and as requested a Resolution had <br />been prepared and is ready to be adopted by the Board. Motion was made <br />by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner McCullers and una- <br />nimously carried, that the following Resolution be adopted. <br />RESOLUTION <br />WHEREAS, for more than 50 years immediately preceding 1961, the '' <br />road in the unincorporated community of Roseland, Indian River County,.., <br />Florida, known as Bay Street crossed the right of way and main line of <br />Florida East Coast Railway Company; and, <br />WHEREAS, many residents of said community purchased homes and <br />
