TUESDAY, JUNE 19, 1962 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, met <br />at the Courthouse, Vero Beach, Florida, in a regular meeting held at 8:00 <br />o'clock, A. M., Tuesday, June 19, 1962. All members were present. Also <br />present were Ed Schmucker, County Engineer, John Gould, Attorney, Al Webber <br />and Freda Wright, Deputy Clerks. <br />The Chairman read a notice inviting bids on artesian well to be <br />located in area of picnic tables in Dale Wimbrow Park,'Roseland, Florida, <br />said notice was published in the Vero Beach Press Journal on May 31, June <br />7, 1962, and the proof of publication filed in legal notice file. <br />McCullers and Hayes, Inc., submitted a bid for $375.00 for 1 3" <br />Flo Well 126' deep and any additional depth to cost 90(,% per foot. There <br />being no other bid received, Motion was made by Commissioner Macdonald, <br />seconded by Commissioner McCullers and unanimously carried, that the bid of <br />McCullers and Hayes, Inc., for 1 3" Flo Well 126' deep in the amount of <br />$375.00 and 90t per foot for depth over 126' deep in the amount of $375.00 <br />and 90c per foot for depth over 126', be accepted. <br />The Chairman read a notice for changing the bulkhead line along <br />the Indian River at the northern most part of the county, said notice was <br />published in the Vero Beach Press Journal on May 17, 24, 31, 1962, and the <br />proof of publication filed in the legal notice file. Ed Carter, Jack <br />Jennings, Robert Lloyd and Carroll S. Winners, representing their clients <br />expressed their reasons for making the change. Representatives from the Rod <br />and Gun Club, Florida Audubon Society, various wildlife societies, Woman's <br />Clubs, Florida Game and Fresh Water Commission and others, appeared in oppo- <br />sition to the change, and in particular, that part that would affect Pelican <br />Island. The main objection submitted against the change was that it would <br />destroy the natural resources. There being so much opposition to the change, <br />except that portion directly connected with the new A -1-A, Motion was made <br />by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner McCullers and unanimously <br />carried, that the bulkhead line be changed, subject to survey of point on <br />East shore which is 950 feet, on property described as follows: From the <br />point of intersection of a line due east of the mouth of the St. Sebastian <br />River and the center- + <br />�K 7 71 � <br />
