The Contractor shall transport the culverts to the County's storage yard. All metal <br />castings for catch basins, manholes, or other structures shall be carefully removed <br />and stored in the County's Storage Yard if they are deemed salvageable by the <br />Engineer. The excavated materials shall be removed from the job site and disposed in <br />a location designated or approved by the Owner. Where required, suitable material as <br />approved by the Engineer shall then be backfilled and compacted to restore the <br />original contour of the ground. The fill material shall be backfilled and compacted in <br />accordance with Section 120 of these specifications. <br />H. No additional payment will be made, nor will additional work, or change orders be <br />authorized for work needed to remove, relocate, protect, or otherwise account for in <br />the construction of the work depicted in the plans, for any feature, or item that would <br />be apparent from a careful inspection of the site and review of the plans, even though <br />such feature or item is not specifically called out in the plans. It is therefore essential <br />the contractor make such inspection and review. <br />I. The unit price bid for this item shall include the cost of all labor, tools, and equipment <br />necessary to excavate, remove, and dispose of those items as directed by the <br />Engineer and where designated on the Drawings. The cost of restoration and backfill <br />and compaction for the specific area of removal shall also be included under this item. <br />Item of Payment <br />Payment for the work specified in this item shall be made under: <br />Bid Item 110 - Clearing and Grubbing - Lump Sum <br />The provisions of Special Provisions, Paragraph 9 shall be applicable and the costs thereof <br />included under this item. <br />ITEM NO. 120 — GRADING, EXCAVATION AND EMBANKMENT <br />The work specified in this item shall conform to Section 120 of the Florida Department of <br />Transportation Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction. (Latest Edition). Excess fill <br />removed to be delivered to Indian River County to a site designated by the County Engineer. <br />This item shall include all excavation of whatever kind, including subsoil, if necessary, for the <br />roadway, drainage channels, removal of existing pavement, structures and any other work <br />normally included in Section 120-7. Also included is all work necessary to construct all <br />necessary embankments, including compaction of same, normally included in Section 120-8 <br />and 102-9.
