GENERAL REVENUE FUND <br />341 MAINTENANCE TO JAIL <br />951 CONTINGENCIES <br />TO FROM <br />$400.00 <br />$400.00 <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Haffield, seconded by Commis- <br />sioner McCullers,and unanimously carried, that the following Resolution <br />be adopted. <br />--------------- <br />RESOLUTION <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County, a political subdivision of the <br />State of Florida, has for the past several months been acquiring right of <br />way for the construction of Florida State Road ,:i -1-A between the unincor- <br />porated community of v4abasso and the north boundary line of said county, <br />all of which right of way is situated east of the Indian River in said county, <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, a large number of landowners along the proposed route <br />of said Florida A -1-A have donated right of way which, if condemned or <br />purchased, would have cost Indian River County a great sum of money and <br />would have delayed or prohibited the construction of said road and the <br />bridge across Sebastian Inlet, and, <br />WHEREAS, the construction of Florida State Road A -1-A in the <br />place aforesaid and the construction of the bridge across the Sebastian <br />Inlet will provided great benefits to the people of Indian River and Brevard <br />Counties, in particular, and to the citizens of and visitors to the State of <br />Florida, in general, and, <br />WHEREAS, some of those landowners who contributed such right <br />of way will be required to purchase from the Trustees of the.Internal Im- <br />provement Fund of the State of Florida bottom lands or submerged.lands ly- <br />ing west of the right of way of said road, NOW, THEREFORE: <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners o -f Indian <br />River County, Florida, that said Board respectfully request the Trustees of <br />the Internal Improvement Fund of the State of Florida to give due consider- <br />ation to the above and that, to the extent allowed by law, such landowners <br />be permitted to purchase such bottom lands and submerged lands at the 1pwest <br />possible prices.. <br />
