2 . Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc . <br /> • A brief description of the project was discussed. <br /> • It was also noted that particular attention be paid to specification section <br /> 00456, line item No. 2 regarding the recent experience of three (3 ) projects <br /> in the last two (2) years which are similar in type, size and nature as the <br /> proposed project. <br /> • The Contractor shall give the water treatment plant' s chief operator, Michael <br /> Vernon, 48 hours notice prior to any plant shutdowns. <br /> • The supplier of the two (2) Owner furnished Variable Frequency Drives <br /> (VFD) will furnish the warranties and start-up services for the two feedwater <br /> pump VFD ' s. <br /> 3 , Open Questions <br /> 1 , Q . Clarification was requested regarding the use of plant water. There is <br /> a conflict between specification section 0 10 10, paragraph 1 . 05 (G) and <br /> section 01170, paragraph 1 .25 . <br /> A. IRC will supply water to the Contractor for this project, all other <br /> utilities required will be the Contractor 's responsibility. <br /> 2 . Q. Who will be representing the Owner during construction? <br /> A. Both the Owner and the Engineer will have a Resident Project <br /> Representative. <br /> 3 . Q . On sheet M-9 there is not a description for pipe indicator No .6? <br /> A. Pipe No. 6 marker should be changed to No. 1 . <br /> 4 . Q. Clarification was requested regarding the conflicting notes on sheet M-6? <br /> A. Delete the note on sheet M-6 that states "NOTE: OWNER FURNISHED <br /> FITTINGS, PIPES AND VALVES " and add the note " Owner is <br /> supplying six (6)-2-inch bulkhead fittings, four (4)-1 -inch bulkhead <br /> fittings, four (4) -2-inch Hayward tru-union valves and two (2)-1 -inch <br /> Hayward tru-union valves ". <br /> 5 . Q. Will performance testing be required after each of the RO Trains is <br /> modified? <br /> A. Performance testing for the entire skid is not required. The Contractor <br /> is responsible for bacteriological testing and any leaks that occur within <br /> the scope of repairs. <br /> 6. Q . Are there any requirements to pressure test existing pipe systems? <br /> A . The Contractor is responsible for pressure testing only newly installed <br /> pipe and appurtenances. <br /> 7 . Q . What are the sequence and downtime requirements for each of the RO <br /> Trains? <br /> A . Only one RO Train may be taken offline at a time after the required 48 <br /> hour notice is given to the WTP Chief Operator. The Train may be <br /> offline for a total 72 hours. <br /> 8 . Q .
