B. Accidents shall be reported immediately to the Engineer by messenger or phone. <br />C. All accidents shall be documented by the Contractor and a fully detailed written report <br />submitted by the Contractor to the Engineer after each accident. <br />1.22 TRAFFIC CONTROL <br />A. The Contractor shall ensure that vehicular flow is maintained in a safe manner and shall <br />adhere to all State and Local requirements for maintenance of traffic, safety precautions, and <br />lighting. Should the Owner request the preparation and submittal of a traffic maintenance <br />and/or safety plan, the Contractor will do so, at no additional cost to the Owner, within 21 <br />days of receipt of request. <br />1.23 WORK ADJACENT TO UTILITY FACILITIES <br />A. The attention of the Contractor is drawn to existing overhead and underground utility facilities <br />in the area of the Work. The Contractor shall protect all existing utility transmission and <br />distribution facilities throughout the period of construction and shall notify the offices all <br />utility companies at least 72 hours prior to the start of any construction. <br />B. It is the full and complete responsibility of the Contractor to determine the exact location of all <br />overhead and underground utility transmission and distribution facilities in the area of the <br />Work whether or not they are indicated on the Drawings. <br />1.24 SALVAGE <br />A. Any existing equipment or material, including but not limited to, valves, pipes, fittings, <br />couplings, etc., which is removed or replaced as a result of construction under this project <br />may be designated as salvage by the Engineer or Owner and if so shall be excavated, if <br />necessary, and shall be cleaned and stored on or adjacent to the site in a protected place <br />specified by the Owner or loaded into trucks provided by the Owner. Any equipment or <br />material not worthy of salvaging, as directed by the Owner, shall be disposed of by the <br />Contractor at a suitable location at the Contractor's expense. <br />1.25 POTABLE WATER FOR TESTING AND CONSTRUCTION <br />A. The Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining a temporary water meter from the Owner <br />for the metering of the potable water used during :testing and construction. The Owner <br />shall provide this water at no cost to the Contractor, as long as the water is used at the <br />project site exclusively. The Owner will perform daily tracking of water usage volumes. <br />1.26 DISINFECTION <br />A The Contractor shall clean, disinfect, and bacteriologically test and clear in accordance <br />with Chapters 17-550, 17-555, and 17-560 of the Florida Administrative Code (FAC) and <br />the local Health Department requirements, all water supply facilities affected by this <br />project which shall come into contact with raw water, water being treated or treated water <br />prior to placing the facility in operation.
