SECTION 01410 <br />TESTING LABORATORY SERVICES <br />PART 1 — GENERAL <br />1.01 REQUIREMENTS INCLUDED <br />A. Contractor will employ and pay for the services of an independent testing laboratory to <br />perform certain specified testing. All testing described in the Contract Documents shall <br />be paid for by the Contractor. This requirement takes precedence over any other <br />specification that may indicate that the testing fees (including collection, shipping and <br />laboratory fees) be paid for by the Owner or any other party other than the Contractor. <br />1. Contractor shall cooperate with the laboratory to facilitate the execution of its <br />required services. <br />2. Employment of the laboratory shall in no way relieve Contractor's obligations to <br />perform the work of the Contract. <br />B. Selection of testing laboratory shall be approved by Engineer and Owner. <br />1.02 RELATED REQUIREMENTS <br />A. General Conditions of the contract: Inspections and testing required by laws, ordinances, <br />rules, regulations, orders or approvals of public authorities. <br />B. Respective sections of specifications: Certification of Products. <br />C. Each specification section listed: Laboratory tests required and standards for testing. <br />D. Testing Laboratory inspection, sampling and testing is required for but not limited to the <br />following: <br />1. Division 2 — Site Work <br />2, Division 3 - Concrete <br />3, Division 4 - Masonry <br />1.03 QUALIFICATION OF LABORATORY <br />A. Meet "Recommended Requirements for Independent Laboratory Qualification," <br />published by American Council of Independent Laboratories. <br />B. Meet basic requirements of ASTM E329, "Standards of Recommended Practice for <br />Inspection and Testing Agencies for Concrete and Steel as Used in Construction." <br />LC, Authorized to operate in the State in which the Project is located. <br />D. Submit copy of report of inspection of facilities made by Materials Reference Laboratory <br />of National Bureau of Standards during the most recent tour of Inspection, with <br />memorandum of remedies of any deficiencies reported by the inspection. <br />044572017 <br />01410-1 <br />
