3 . All equipment shall be stored fully lubricated with oil, grease, etc, unless <br /> otherwise instructed by the manufacturer. <br /> 4 . A copy of the manufacturees storage instructions shall be given to the Resident <br /> Project Representative and shall be carefully studied by the Contractor and <br /> reviewed with the Resident Project Representative by him_ These instructions <br /> shall be carefully followed and a written record of this kept by the Contractor . <br /> 5 . Moving parts shall be rotated a minimum of once weekly to insure proper <br /> lubrication and to avoid metal -to-metal "welding" . Upon installation of the <br /> equipment, start the equipment, at least half load, once weekly for an adequate <br /> period of time to ensure that the equipment does not deteriorate from lack of use . <br /> 6 . Lubricants shall be changed upon completion of installation and as frequently as <br /> required thereafter during the period between installation and acceptance. <br /> Mechanical equipment to be used in the work, if stored for longer than ninety <br /> days, shall have the bearings cleaned, flushed and lubricated prior to testing and <br /> startup, at no additional cost to the Owner. <br /> 7 . Prior to acceptance of the equipment, have the manufacturer inspect the <br /> equipment and certify that its condition has not been detrimentally affected by the <br /> long storage period. Such certifications by the manufacturer shall be deemed to <br /> mean that the equipment is judged by the manufacturer to be in a condition equal <br /> to that of equipment that has been shipped, installed, tested and accepted in a <br /> minimum time period. As such, the manufacturer will guarantee the equipment <br /> equally in both instances . If such a certification is not given, the equipment shall <br /> be judged to be defective. It shall be removed and replaced at the Contractor's <br /> expense. <br /> 1 .09 WARRANTY <br /> A. For all major pieces of equipment, submit a warranty from the equipment manufacturer as <br /> specified in Section 01740 . <br /> 1 . 10 SPARE PARTS <br /> A. Spare parts for certain equipment provided under Divisions 11 , 14 , 15 , 16, and 17 have <br /> 1 been specified in the pertinent Sections. Collect and store all spare parts as required by the <br /> 1 manufacturer in accordance with Paragraph 1 .08 above. In addition, famish to the <br /> Engineer an inventory listing all spare parts, the equipment they are associated with, the <br /> I name and address of the supplier and the delivered cost of each item. Copies of actual <br /> invoices for each item shall be furnished with the inventory to substantiate the delivered <br /> cosL Deliver the spare parts to the Owner not later than 10 days prior to plant start-up . <br /> I1 . 11 GREASE, OIL AND FUEL <br /> A. All grease, oil and fuel required for testing of equipment shall be furnished with the <br /> respective equipment The Owner shall be furnished with a year's supply of required <br /> lubricants including grease and oil of the type recommended by the manufacturer with <br /> each item of equipment supplied under Divisions 11 , 13 , 14, 15 , 16, and 17 . <br /> B . The Contractor shall beible the oil in all drives and intermediate <br /> �� for changing <br /> drives of each mechanical equipment after initial break in of the equipment, which in no <br /> 1 event shall be any longer than three weeks of operation. <br /> 044572017 <br /> 01610-5 <br />
