SECITON 11240 <br />STATIC MIXER <br />PARTI- GENERAL <br />1.01 DESCRIPTION <br />This section includes materials and installation of an in-line static mixer including nozzles. <br />1.02 RELATED WORK SECTIONS <br />A. Section 15100 — Piping and Valves <br />1.03 SUBMITTALS <br />A. Submit shop drawings in accordance with Section 01300. <br />B. Submit dimensional drawings and installation details. Submit manufacturer's catalog data and <br />descriptive literature, describing materials of construction by ASTM reference and grade. <br />C. Submit mixing calculations demonstrating mixer will provide dispersion and mixing of <br />chemicals injected into and upstream of mixer. <br />PART 2 — MATERIALS <br />2.01 MANUFACTURERS <br />Mixers shall be as manufactured by KoFlo Corporation, Koch Engineering Company, or <br />Komax Systems, <br />2.02 MIXER DESIGN <br />A. The mixers shall be the static in-line type for turbulent mixing with no moving parts. The <br />mixer shall produce homogenous mixing, blending, and dispersion of sulfuric acid in <br />water. <br />B. Mixing shall be from stationary, removable elements arranged to split and recombine <br />component streams to provide a homogenous stream at the mixer outlet. The minimum <br />Reynolds number for mixing shall be RF>3000. <br />C. The mixer element shall be fabricated from one piece and be fitted for insertion into the <br />mixer housing and be fabricated of 316 ss. <br />D. The mixer housing shall be fitted with 2 -1" FNPT connections as required for the <br />injection of scale inhibitor and/or sulfuric acid, into the mixer body. <br />044572017 <br />11240-1 <br />
