H . Mechanical equipment, including drives and electric motors shall be supplied and installed in <br /> accordance with applicable OSHA regulations . Type 316 stainless steel guards shall be <br /> installed on all rotating assemblies . <br /> I . All lubrication fittings shall be brought to the outside of all equipment so that they are readily <br /> accessible from the outside without the necessity of removing covers, plates, housings, or <br /> guards . Fittings shall be buttonhead type. Lubrication fittings shall be mounted together <br /> wherever possible . Pressure grease-lubricated fittings shall be the " Zerk Hydraulic" type or <br /> the " Alemite " type . Housings of grease-lubricated bearings shall be automatically exhausted <br /> to the atmosphere to prevent excessive greasing . <br /> 2 .02 PERFORMANCE <br /> A . The three (3 ) high service pumps and one ( 1 ) new rotating element shall be Model 3410M, 8 <br /> x 10 x 14 as manufactured by Goulds Pump . <br /> B . Pumps and new rotating element must meet the following design conditions : <br /> Flow Head Efficiency Horsepower <br /> GPM) (FT) (% (HP) <br /> 0 190 <br /> 2600 166 83 132 <br /> 3250 148 83 146 (Design Point) <br /> 3500 132 82 143 <br /> 2 .03 PUMP CASING <br /> A. The high service pumps shall be of the single stage, double suction, horizontal split case <br /> design; split on the horizontal axis. Suction and discharge connections shall be located on <br /> opposite sides of the lower casing, allowing removal of the rotating element without <br /> disturbing the system piping connections. <br /> B . The pump casing material shall be cast iron (ASTM A48) . Water passageways shall be <br /> smooth to permit maximum efficiency. Casing shall be hydro-statically tested at 150% of the <br /> maximum working pressure under which the pump could operate at design speed. The <br /> suction flange shall be drilled 125 lbs. ANSI. The discharge flange shall be drilled 125 lb . <br /> ANSI. <br /> C. The bearing brackets shall be cast as an integral part of the lower casing and have removable <br /> bracket caps . The bearing housing shall be dowelled for location and anti-rotation. The <br /> pump feet shall also be cast as an integral part of the lower casing. <br /> 1 D .
