B . Valves — All valves shall be true union ball valves, fabricated from PFA or CPVC. Seats <br /> shall be Teflon, and seals shall be PFA. O-rings shall be Viton. <br /> C . Pressure Sustaining Valve — See the plans for injection point. <br /> A back pressure valve shall be provided , mounted immediately before the discharge point. <br /> The back pressure valve body shall be fabricated from PVDF , with a Teflon diaphragm seal . <br /> The valve shall be manufactured by Prominent , Milton Roy , Pulsafeeder , or equal . <br /> Pump shall include wall mounted bracket, tote adapters , and flexible hoses as indicated on <br /> the drawings . <br /> 2 .07 PLASTIC BALL VALVES <br /> A. Ball valves 1 /2 " through 2" shall be double true union type, CPVC, or PVC (same material <br /> as pipe) fitted for intended service unless otherwise noted. Valves shall be solvent welded to <br /> piping system unless otherwise noted. Valves shall be Nibco Chemtrol, style TU . <br /> B . Multiport ball valves shall be Chemtrol MP type, with line unions and threaded branch. <br /> C . Ball check valves - Chemtrol BC series , double true union . <br /> 2 .08 STAINLESS STEEL VALVES (2 " size and less) <br /> A. Ball valves used for sulfuric acid service shall be Carpenter-20 S .S . alloy body, ball and <br /> stem with Teflon seats and seals . <br /> B . Regulating valves for throttling service for air, ammonia, and other gases Whitey Forged <br /> body regulating and shutoff valve, 316 stainless steel. <br /> IC . Ball valves for gas services, Whitey Series 60, swing out style, 316 stainless steel body and <br /> ball , viton fitted cadmium plated handle . <br /> D . Shut off cocks for seal water, gauges, instruments, etc. Nupro plug valve, 316 stainless. <br /> E. Ball valves used for hydrofluorosilicic acid shall be Alloy C276 body, ball and stems with <br /> i <br /> Teflon seats and stems. <br /> 1 <br /> F . Check valves - ammonia service - spring loaded in-line check valve, similar to Nupro 16C <br /> Iseries, 316 stainless steel <br /> 2.09 GATE VALVES <br /> A. Resilient seated gate valves shall be non-rising stem (NRS) type, conforming to the latest <br /> revision of AWWA Standard C-509 . The gate valves shall be mechanical joint type, fully <br /> enclosed, and suitable for buried service complete with a cast bronze 2" operating nut that is <br /> t independent of the stem and wedge. The body shall be of cast iron and fully encapsulated <br /> inside and outside with a fusion bonded epoxy coating conforming to the latest revision of <br /> I AWWA Standard C-550 . The wedge shall be cast iron and completely encapsulated with a <br /> resilient EPDM elastomer permanently bonded to the wedge and have a rubber-tearing bond <br /> 044572017 <br /> 15100-7 <br />
